Mechanical Interlocks

Safety switches or Safety interlocks to AS4024.2006 have the task of preventing the operation of a machine in the case of a hazard. For this purpose a safety circuit must be opened by a safety switch. All mechanical safety switches have at least one positively driven NC contact for this purpose.

A differentiation is made between switches with integrated actuator (with safety function) and those with separate actuator. Safety switches with separate actuator are available with and without door locking. The switches can be of metal or plastic housings.

When a guard is opened, hazardous machine movements must be stopped and a restart must be prevented. It must not be possible to either defeat or manipulate the guards. Certain applications also require the safety gate to be interlocked until the hazardous production process is complete. Our Safety interlocks meet these requirements effectively and economically and are therefore ideal for safety gate and position monitoring.
