Conventional design e-chains® are used gliding for long travels. The technical limits of this operating mode were the reason for development of the igus® E4/4 rol-e chain®. The demands have increased steadily in recent years. Travel lengths of 800 metres now pose new challenges in cranes along with high travel speeds and low noise with high cable loads.
