WITTENSTEIN alpha presents a new feature of the Health Index gearbox analysis tool: the “utilization radar”. This Smart Service analysis tool delivers information about critical operating states in WITTENSTEIN alpha gearboxes with cynapse® functionality – that is, with integrated temperature and acceleration sensors, a logic and memory unit and an IO-Link data interface. The purpose of the utilization radar is to determine the current total utilization of a gearbox and to ensure it achieves its service life – or to extend this – by comparing the findings with individual limit values.

Today, industrial robots operate at ever higher speeds, with complex motion profiles and in increasingly confined spaces. Robot cables must not only allow for extremely small bend radii, but also reliably withstand millions of torsional movements. To meet these demanding requirements, igus has developed its proven CFROBOT8.PLUS range of robot cables and is now expanding it to include a new DeviceNet cable for applications involving ±360°/m torsion.

Easy cleaning of machines and systems is crucial in the food industry. However, the carriages of many linear guides are difficult to disassemble. To reduce downtime, igus has developed a new drylin W linear guide with a polymer carriage that can be removed for cleaning without tools. The system is the first linear guide in the world to receive EHEDG certification, giving it official approval for food technology.

The switch from classic metal gearboxes to worm gear screw jacks made of high-performance plastic from the drygear Apiro series promises several advantages: reduced costs, lower weight and no need for lubrication. However, many design engineers were not able to make this transition because the operating environments were too harsh and demanding. With the drygear Apiro HD, igus is now presenting a hybrid solution that closes precisely this gap.
